About Us

The Eastern Washington University Student Subunit of the American Fisheries Society provides a space for students, both graduate and undergraduate, to connect with AFS and the Fisheries Sciences faculty as a whole. This would fill a niche in the university where graduate and undergraduate students can engage in an inclusive and collaborative space to further their personal and professional development. This will be achieved with meetings where seminars from professionals in the fisheries field, presentations of student research, and workshops like resume building or networking opportunities will take place. By establishing this subunit, we are committed to creating and fostering long term relationships between students and AFS resulting in a stronger society for all.
