Army ROTC is synonymous with the Department of Military Science.ROTC is one of the Nation├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬┤s top leadership programs and is part ofEastern├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬┤s college curriculum. Students learn first-hand what it takes tolead others, motivate groups and train as an Officer in the U.S. Army.Upon graduation from college and completion of Army ROTC, studentsearn the rank of Second Lieutenant and are commissioned into theActive Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.ROTC is a volunteer program. It offers a two-, three-, four- or five yearcurriculum in leadership, both theoretical and practical. Studentslearn the fundamentals of leadership, then progress into larger roles toimprove their level of proficiency. Many other ├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬║life skills├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬╣, such as timemanagement, oral and written communications, first aid and personalfitness are also integrated into ROTC. The program offers an electivecurriculum that students take with other college courses. ROTC Cadetslive a normal college experience ├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬¼ augmented by military science classesand practical training. ROTC classes are open to ALL enrolled EWUstudents, and there is no obligation or commitment to the Army unlessthe student chooses this option. Students who wish to contract mustmeet medical, physical and military screening standards. The programalso offers a leadership laboratory, off-campus training and internshipopportunities. Both a major and a minor are offered.

AboutIn 1977 a group of students of Mexican ancestry who identified as Chicana/os in recognition of their unique social, cultural and political identities joined forces with a Chicano Art Professor, Rub├ó╦å┼í├é┬®n Trejo, to establish the Chicano Education Program. Since its creation, this program has served as an academic and community center for students and their families. Today, the Chicana/o/x Studies Program, as is known, provides services for students of all backgrounds: Chicanx, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latinx, immigrant, migrant, Caribbean, Central American, South American, non-Latinx, and beyond. Our program offers academic and non-academic support services both in English and Spanish, such as advising, peer mentorship, and tutoring opportunities, culturally relevant events, scholarship information, and a home away from home.
