About Us
EWU Fencing Club (EWUFC) exists to give students the opportunity to learn how to fence and to compete in fencing tournaments. We encourage students of all skill levels to join and become part of the EWUFC community. We focus on foil and épée. FAQs: Who can join? Any EWU student of any skill level can join. No experience required! Do I need to purchase equipment? Nope! All equipment is provided. If you already have equipment, you are free to use it as long as it passes a safety check. Do I have to compete to be in the club? Members do not have to compete in tournaments to be part of the club. We encourage members to compete in local tournaments when they are ready, but our primary goal is to provide fencing at a level that is comfortable for each member. What should I wear/bring to practice? Wear clothes that are comfortable and you can move easily in. Long pants are best, but avoid jeans if possible. Tennis shoes or similar types are generally the best to wear. Long hair will need to be tied up during practice and most accessories should be removed. Additionally, bring a water bottle since we'll be active.
