Good morning, skaters,
I hope this message finds you all well. I wanted to take a moment to clarify a few important points and ensure we are all on the same page moving forward. My goal is to promote open, honest, and respectful communication within our group.
1. Personal Responsibility and Attendance
I am committed to transparency and to supporting each of you in your skating goals. However, I’ve realized that in trying to help, I may have taken on too much responsibility for your individual progress. Moving forward, I encourage each of you to take greater ownership of your own development.
Please note that starting next week, if you miss three or more lessons without 24 hour notice, you will not be eligible for private lessons for the remainder of the quarter.
2. Communication and Responsiveness
When I send out messages or emails requesting information—whether about competitions, events, or future plans—your timely responses are essential. For instance, regarding the Denver competition, I did not receive replies from most skaters until the day before the registration deadline, which made planning very difficult and ultimately impossible. Please remember that I am also a full-time working student and that is why I request information in advance for better planning.
If I reach out for input and you do not respond, I will assume that you are not participating. Clear and consistent communication helps everything run smoothly for everyone involved.
3. Team Gear Update
After reviewing the budget, we’ve decided to proceed with team backpacks instead of the Lululemon Define jackets, as the cost of the jackets exceeded the $150 gear fee.
4. Roles and Responsibilities
Please remember that a great deal of work goes on behind the scenes—scheduling, coordinating coaches, organizing competitions and performances, managing finances, and much more. I appreciate your understanding as I continue to balance these responsibilities to keep our club running efficiently.
5. Team Culture and Professionalism
If you have a concern or suggestion, I encourage you to bring it directly to me. Open, respectful discussion leads to growth and improvement; rumors and negativity only harm the supportive community we’ve built.
This club was created to be a positive, collaborative space where we can all thrive. Let’s continue to foster that atmosphere together.
Thank you all for your attention and continued commitment.
Warm regards,
Jazmine
