In an era of heightened surveillance and criminalization of marginalized bodies in today's digital era, this workshop examines the intersections of race, identity, legal status and ICE raids. Together we will explore critical questions about what it means to be Latinx and what it means to be “undocumented” in the United States.

Grounding our discussion in critical race theory (CRT) and referencing the work of Gloria Anzaldua, this workshop will provide a historical context on the activities of ICE. Participants will gain practical rapid response strategies to show up as active, and informed community members.

Objectives:
• To develop a grounded and practical understanding of critical race theory.
• To understand the intersectionality of race, identity, and what it means to be Latina/o/x/e in the U.S.
• To identify tools for supporting our Latinx community during times of crisis.

Participants will leave the workshop with an increased understanding CRT, intersectionality, and strategies for creating greater social justice, equity, and tools for supporting our most marginalized communities.
