About Us

Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a/o/x is a student created organization that began during the 1960's civil rights and Chicano movement. This organization seeks to promote Chicanx unity and empowerment through political action. The motto of MEChA is 'La Union Hace La Fuerza' (Unity makes strength). MEChA hosts an annual student conference at EWU, cultural events such as Dia de los muertos (Day of the Dead), political sessions, participates actively in promoting political change, has annual potlucks and activities for the members to participate in. MEChA meets weekly , you can follow us on facebook, instagram and snapchat. All are welcome!Purpose of the OrganizationM.E.Ch.A is an organization that seeks to promote Chicano unity and empowerment through political action. It also allows are members an opportunity to grow as leaders, become politically involved in our society, and to learn more about culture. This organization also offers cultural events to the EWU student body.
