Who can join?
Climbing Club is open to all EWU students, regardless of experience level.
Do I need my own gear?
No. You can bring your own gear if you want to, but you do not need to buy anything to get started. Many climbers decide to buy their own shoes within their first year, but it is completely optional. Chalk bags are not provided.
Do I have to be on the Team to join Club?
No. Club and Team are connected, but they are not the same. You can be a Club member without joining the competitive Team.
Can I compete without being on Team?
Club members can compete locally if they cover their own registration fees.
Can I join if I don't want to top-rope?
Yes. You can absolutely join if you only want to boulder.
Will Club help me get my certifications?
Yes. There will be many opportunities to learn and practice the skills needed for belay and lead certifications.
How much are Club dues?
Club dues are $35 in Fall, $35 in Winter, and $45 in Spring.
