Army ROTC is synonymous with the Department of Military Science.ROTC is one of the Nation├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬┤s top leadership programs and is part ofEastern├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬┤s college curriculum. Students learn first-hand what it takes tolead others, motivate groups and train as an Officer in the U.S. Army.Upon graduation from college and completion of Army ROTC, studentsearn the rank of Second Lieutenant and are commissioned into theActive Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.ROTC is a volunteer program. It offers a two-, three-, four- or five yearcurriculum in leadership, both theoretical and practical. Studentslearn the fundamentals of leadership, then progress into larger roles toimprove their level of proficiency. Many other ├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬║life skills├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬╣, such as timemanagement, oral and written communications, first aid and personalfitness are also integrated into ROTC. The program offers an electivecurriculum that students take with other college courses. ROTC Cadetslive a normal college experience ├óÔé¼┼í├âÔÇ×├â┬¼ augmented by military science classesand practical training. ROTC classes are open to ALL enrolled EWUstudents, and there is no obligation or commitment to the Army unlessthe student chooses this option. Students who wish to contract mustmeet medical, physical and military screening standards. The programalso offers a leadership laboratory, off-campus training and internshipopportunities. Both a major and a minor are offered.

AboutIn 1977 a group of students of Mexican ancestry who identified as Chicana/os in recognition of their unique social, cultural and political identities joined forces with a Chicano Art Professor, Rub├ó╦å┼í├é┬®n Trejo, to establish the Chicano Education Program. Since its creation, this program has served as an academic and community center for students and their families. Today, the Chicana/o/x Studies Program, as is known, provides services for students of all backgrounds: Chicanx, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latinx, immigrant, migrant, Caribbean, Central American, South American, non-Latinx, and beyond. The Theatre Program offers: The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, for those who wish to enter the profession or for those who wish to prepare for graduate school; and the Bachelor of Arts in Education, with a major in Theatre, for those who wish to teach grades 4-12. Minors are available in both degree programs. This program is designed to give the student a thorough preparation in all aspects of theatre, both to equip the potential elementary and secondary teacher with the necessary knowledge and skills and to support any graduate school specialty the major may choose to pursue.

The range of elective courses permits the major a small amount of specialization within the curriculum, but the primary intention of the curriculum is to achieve a broad fundamental preparation in theatre, with the belief that specialization is the proper pursuit of graduate study. In addition to classroom studies, the program offers valuable hands-on experience in virtually every phase of theatrical production, whether it be acting, directing, singing, costuming, or a myriad of technical and design skills. Each major is expected and required to be available to work on every production in the program's season.

Each University season is chosen for balance and variety. Productions range from classical to modern in plays and include musicals. Plays are produced in the University Theatre, a modern, well-equipped plant, opened in 1972. The theatre is located in the university's College of Fine Arts Complex, in close proximity to the Music, Art, and Radio-Television departments. Students are encouraged to supplement their theatre studies with exploration in other fields in order to better understand theatre as an art form, a field of study in the liberal arts, and as an area of human activity and endeavor with a long history that affects us every day.

All theatre faculty participate in, and are available for, advising with classes and registration.

Most are FREE!We also invite all EWU non-music major students to participate in ensembles such as Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, etc. Classes for non-majors include: Beginning Guitar, Piano for the Non-Major, Music in Arts and Culture, and Popular Music, and others. Our faculty and are part of the region's dynamic musical community, including the Spokane Symphony, Northwest Opera, the Northwest Bach Festival, and the Spokane Jazz Orchestra, "the longest, continuously performing, community supported jazz orchestra in the United States."

Student Accounting educates, coaches, and provides resources for financial well-being to achieve individual and organizational skills.Providing support to the students of Eastern Washington University is the number one focus of Student Accounting.Our department is here to assist clubs and organizations with the use of their├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬áS&A├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬áFund Allocation├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬áand Club Funded accounts.We are located in 307 PUB├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬áand are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist you with all your club and organizational accounting needs including:Determining the balance available in both S & A accounts and Club Funded Accounts. Advising as to what items your club may purchase with the two types of accounts that we manage on your behalf.Assistance with online purchases, use of Purchase Orders, use of Open Purchase Orders with local├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬ávendors, and use of Memorandum of Agreement forms.Assistance with any travel that your club or organization would like to arrange.Our goal is to assist you in the most professional and efficient manner possible├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬áin the spending of your club and organization funds.├é┬¼├óÔé¼┬á We know that many students are not familiar with the processes that are required to disburse these funds and are happy to spend time with you to teach you everything that you need to know.
